In 6 sessions over 6 months, discover a different approach to practicing yoga in intimate, 6 person semi-private sessions more individualized than larger studio classes so you can more readily internalize and apply ancient wisdom to your unique needs.

Be a part of an educational cohort for curious cats interesting in exploring slow, mindful, playful, asana (postures), pranayama (breathwork), meditation (focus and concentration), and svadhyaya (self-study), with ongoing support, amongst a community of like-minded peeps.

T.V.K Desikachar says in his book, The Heart of Yoga, “In the Upanishads it is beautifully stated: In education, the first requirement is the teacher, the second os the student. What should happen between them is learning. How it should happen is through the constant teaching of that which will be relevant to the student. That is education.” This perfectly summarizes my intention for these programs, but this not what is often happens in group classes.

He continues, “The way yoga is taught nowadays often gives the impression that there is one solution to everyone’s problems and one treatment for every illness…but it necessary for an individual approach to yoga. By this I do not mean private lessons, but I must create an atmosphere in my classes in which each of my students can find their own way to yoga.”

Each session begins with a 30-minute mini-workshop, discourse and discussion segment, providing a platform to explore the philosophy, principles, and nuances of yoga.   • Comprehensive Practice: Each 90-minute session includes 60 minutes of asana (postures), pranayama (breathing exercises), and meditation. This balanced approach honors the holistic system of yoga which promotes physical vitality, mental clarity, and emotional tranquility. 

  • Holistic Integration: Learn how to seamlessly integrate yoga into your daily life. With an objective of supporting you to build a home practice that you can turn to anytime, helping yoga become an accessible, integral part of your routine, akin to calling on a good friend.

  • Wisdom Traditions: Each session is enriched and informed by the profound teachings of the Yoga Sutras and the Bhagavad Gita. These timeless texts provide a philosophical foundation, guiding you towards a deeper understanding of yoga's essence and its application in daily life.

Large studio classes are a great entry point for many folks interested in practicing yoga asanas. Yet, for others this model is a barrier and limits learning about yoga beyond the movement aspect. Traditionally, yoga was taught and practiced in small groups — in the household — so participants could get individualized instruction and ask questions in real time. These programs are my attempt to reclaim this historic educational paradigm.

  • Is interested in the components of yoga beyond the asana and wants to experience their benefits

  • Is curious about yoga, wants to learn more, but does not want to do a teacher training in order to study

  • Wants to develop a creative, sustainable, individualized home practice

  • Has health issues they would like to work with on their own that complements their other medical treatments

  • Has been engaged in different way to practice yoga yet still has various chronic physical issues

  • Has been practicing yoga but regularly experiencing mental and emotionally distress and not feeling as the Sutras say, “Yogas citta vritti nirodha”, Yoga is the calming of the fluctuations of the mind in order to find unity within.

  • Likes the motivation and support that comes from being part of a group/cohort

  • Has completed yoga teacher training and wants to expand their scope into more therapeutic realms

  • Has been teaching yoga awhile and is feeling stuck, bored, stale or uninspired
